Sunday Demo

I think it's full.
More demo in the bathroom today.  This morning, I thought I would start in the bathroom by trying to clean up a bit.  I tried ... but it's hard!  I vacummed a little bit and tried to make some piles of drywall and dust, but gave up quick enough.  It's really gonna be a pain when I decide that it HAS to all be cleaned up!

The grandparents came over today and helped, which was great!  Grandma with the little one, and Big John helped in the bathroom.

Just awesome.
We pulled up all the tile pretty quickly since there wasn't much of it and found some really nice linoleum from 1980!  SWEEEEEET.

Painful wires ...
Shortly after that, I was pulling some drywall off of the wall where the vanity was and felt this horrible weird tingling pain in my hand and let out a yell!  I electrocuted myself!  I obviously forgot to cap off the wire that used to go to the vanity light, and it was just hanging down next to the drywall and I didn't see it.  At least it was only 110v instead of the 220v that will be going in there!

Leaky lights.
Big John did a great job demolishing the shower and the soffits around it.  At that point we were able to cap off the shower pipes .. which didn't exactly work as wonderfully as I had planned the first time!  I put the Shark Bite end cap on a little crooked, and yes it leaked quite a bit when I turned the water back on!  Unfortunately since that bathroom is over our kitchen, the water came down around a recessed light into the kitchen.  Had to take that off and let it dry out ... but it was OK.

At the end of the day we were able to pull out the shower pan and declare the Bagster completely full!!  Yay!

Thanks again John for your awesome help today (and last weekend too) -- couldn't have done it without you!  I'm really surprised at how much work just the teardown is, but now it's mostly done!
Nice shower!
