I have wanted a ceiling fan for who knows how long -- and yesterday I finally got one. Looks like my life is now complete!
We decided on a Hunter Highbury fan that we saw at Home Depot. Simple, contemporary, brushed nickel -- all the things we like! And the best part is that my mom bought it for us!
Although it was a huge pain to assemble, it really looks great and doesn't wobble at all. The "ceiling plate" as it's called that connects to the wiring box at the ceiling is smart. It's just a big round plate that screws into the box (or a joyce) and is snug against the ceiling. Then everything else connects to that -- and nothing even can wobble. It's whisper-quiet as well which is really great while sleeping. Last night we had it on all night and I wouldn't have known it if I didn't feel the nice cool air on me!
It also came with a remote that has all the fan speed and light control buttons on it, which is nice. We take that over to the bed at night so that we can turn it off if we get too cold in the morning ... without getting out of bed!! PIMP!
